pity on us.”

This was what Perlis FA (PFA) president Datuk Ahmad Amizal Shaifit Ahmad Rafie told the media after his team thrashed Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) 30 in Friday’s Premier League match in Shah Alam.

“Our team are in harmony, please disturb other teams,” said Amizal.

“Some things have been exaggerated (by the media). Our problem is the media... on our side, we do not have issues.

“What I am asking is time and some space as we are a new team. We will try our best to address the issues at our club.”

It is understood that Perlis have not paid their players for two months. They are also in the spotlight for failing to settle last season’s salary arrears of players.

Amizal is confident that PFA can overcome the current hurdles in the near future.

“MFL have told us to submit the financial report by Friday, and we will adhere to it. I don’t know why the spotlight is on us. Other teams have problems as well.

“When we settle our issues, we will inform the media,” he said.

Amizal also denied that some of his players are planning to leave Perlis.

“As for as I know, no player has said anything about leaving the club. It is just speculations. Everyone is happy and focused on the mission,” said Amizal, adding that a new sponsor has pledged to fund the team.

He also denied that former Kelantan captain Badhri Radzi has left the team.

“He has rejoined the team after seeking medical treatment in Kelantan. We will assess his fitness and hopefully he will be ready for the next game,” Amizal added.

Khyril Muhymeen Zambri’s double in the 32nd and 37th minutes, followed by Kevin Osei’s 73rd-minute goal helped Perlis record their first win of the season on Friday.

Coach Manzoor Azwira attributed the win to his players’ attitude and character.

“Winning a match away from home is always a great result. My players gave their 100 per cent,” he said.

They will entertain Johor Darul Ta’zim II (JDT II) in their next match in Kangar on Friday.
