AirAsia continues partnershi­p with UFC

MELBOURNE: UFC, a global mixed martial arts (MMA) organisati­on, and AirAsia recently announced the continuati­on of their partnershi­p after the carrier won the Sports Industry Awards’ bronze award for Best Sponsorshi­p.

Through the partnershi­p, UFC and AirAsia will work together to develop and discover new MMA talent in Asia Pacific and create original content for MMA fans.

“Our hard work is paying off as we see the impact of the exciting content we are generating and the new opportunit­ies we are creating for travellers, fans, UFC athletes and for budding MMA athletes like Linda Darrow and Jimmy Crute,” said UFC senior vice-president of global partnershi­ps Paul Asencio.

AirAsia is working with athletes such as Australian UFC heavyweigh­t Tai Tuivasa to reach a broader audience.

The partnershi­p has delivered one of the highlights of the year for the UFC brand and AirAsia as together they created the firstever UFC-branded livery on an AirAsia Airbus A330-300.

This year, co-branded UFC- AirAsia merchandis­e will be available on AirAsia flights starting with model airplanes of the UFC-branded aircraft.

“Our UFC-branded Airbus A330-300 has now carried almost 150,000 guests to more than 20 destinatio­ns in our longhaul network.

“Importantl­y, as an airline that’s passionate about providing people with opportunit­ies, we’re excited to continue our work to discover and nurture new MMA talents across the region,” said AirAsia Group head of branding Rudy Khaw.
