US lawmakers agree to tentative wall deal

EL PASO: United States lawmakers announced on Monday an agreement in principle to avoid another government shutdown, with nearly US$1.4 billion (RM5.7 billion) in money for constructi­on of a wall on the border with Mexico. That amount is far less than what President DonaldTrum­p has demanded. The agreed figure would fund approximat­ely 89km, all to be located in the Rio Grande Valley area of south Texas, senior congressio­nal aides said.The deal still faces White House approval.
