Syed Saddiq congratulates Nauraj

Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman congratulated Nauraj Singh Randhawa for breaking the national indoor high jump record.

Syed Saddiq posted in his Twitter account: “Congrats @Navraj40 #MalaysiaBoleh.”

Nauraj said: “I am happy to have set a new indoor record. I will now put more work together for the outdoor season.”

The 27-year-old Nauraj cleared 2.19 metres to finish second in the Erdgas Indoor Athletics Championships in Chemnitz, Germany on Sunday.

He erased the old mark of 2.15m jointly held by Lou Cwee Peng and Lee Hup Wei.

Cwee Peng set the previous record at the 1993 World Championships in Toronto, Canada, before Hup Wei equalled it twice in 2012 in Ostrava, the Czech Republic, and in Vienna, Austria.
