THE Federal Kuala Lumpur is a historical landmark located in the bustling Bukit Bintang shopping district with 10 of the city’s most popular shopping malls at close proximity.

Known as “the hotel for Merdeka”, it is Malaysia’s first international class hotel, opened just three days before the nation achieved independence. The 90-room 10-storey Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur was officiated by our first Prime Minister, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra on Aug 28, 1957.

Today, the 21-storey Federal Hotel has 450 rooms and recently unveiled new looks and facilities which include guestrooms, meeting spaces, innovative restaurants and lounge.

The newly-renovated Merdeka Wing Rooms are designed with pleasure and convenience in mind. Guests on the Merdeka Executive have access to the private-access Merdeka Lounge at Level 8 and usage of a private meeting room. For families, the spacious Merdeka Wing Family Room that offers a king or twin bed with one daybed is the right choice.

The Federal has also upgraded its meeting space to better accommodate events and meetings. The newly-renovated Ballrooms offer flexible space for banquets and special occasions, while the Mandarin Palace, which resembles the grandeur of an Imperial Palace, is a perfect wedding venue.

The new all-day dining restaurant, The Kontiki, serves a unique combination of both Asian and Continental favourites, plus a fabulous selection of carvery and seafood BBQ delights. The Federal offers a fine dining option at the Bintang Lounge & Restaurant with its panoramic view of the city skyline.

The brand new Lobby Lounge called The Verandah is perfect for private moments or social functions and a great venue to network.
