14 MORE CHARGES LEVELLED AT FORMER FELDA DIRECTOR

Former Kota Tinggi MP pleads not guilty to receiving instalment payments for BMW

FORMER Federal Land Developmen­t Authority (Felda) director Datuk Noor Ehsanuddin Mohd Harun Narrashid was charged at the Sessions Court here with 14 counts of graft involving payments of his car instalment totalling RM23,540.68.

Noor Ehsanuddin, 56, who is also former Kota Tinggi member of parliament, pleaded not guilty to the charges read to him before judge Azman Ahmad yesterday.

On the first to the 14th counts, the accused was charged in his capacity as a director of Felda, with receiving a valuable thing in the form of payment for the instalment of his car totalling RM23,540.68 via cheques from Karya Hidayah Sdn Bhd, a printing company that had a connection with the accused.

The offences were allegedly committed at Affin Bank Bhd, Taman Maluri branch at Jalan Mahkota, Cheras, here, between Feb 10, 2014 and Nov 9, 2015.

It was understood that the car was a BMW 3 series model.

Deputy public prosecutor Nor Diana Nor Azwa proposed RM30,000 bail on all 14 charges in one surety.

She also proposed that the accused report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office each month and that his passport be surrendere­d to the court.

Nor Diana also told the court that the accused would be facing more charges today at the Shah Alam Sessions Court. The case will be up for mention on March 14.
