“Only God can repay the services of all those who helped free the detainees,” she said when contacted by phone.

Zunita had just arrived back here from Phnom Penh, via Kuala Lumpur, when she was told the good news.

She was part of a group led by Julau member of parliament Larry Sng who flew to Cambodia. There, she met here son.

Zunita said she could not wait to see her son again and hoped he and other detainees were healthy and would arrive safely back in Malaysia as soon as possible.

She said the release of the detainees was the result of everyone working together, adding that she hoped what they went through would not happen to anyone in the future.
