100,000TH THIRD GENERATION MYVI ON THE ROAD

-

WE all know that there are a lot of Myvis on the road, but Perodua revealed recently that the 100,000th third generation Myvi has already hit the road.

It took 15 months for the second national car manufacturer to achieve the target from the November 2017 launch.

What is even more impressive is that Perodua said it had already sold 1.1 million Myvis, overtaking the Kancil’s all-time sales of 708,000 units from 1994 to 2009.

The hot-selling model sealed Perodua as Malaysia’s leading carmaker for the 13th year last year. Perodua closed 2018 with a record 227,243 cars sold. Since 1994, the company has sold nearly 3.5 million cars.

“We are glad to announce that since the third-generation Perodua Myvi’s launch in November 2017, we have delivered over 100,000 of them to happy customers. That’s an average of over 1,560 units a week,” Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said.

“The Perodua Myvi is by far the most successful model in our history. The original Myvi launched in 2005 into a market then dominated by sedans.”

Zahari said customer feedback has been largely positive for the model.

He said many customers liked Myvi’s stylish looks, practicality, ease to drive, low running cost thanks to its frugality and economical maintenance, generous space and advanced features that are usually only found in more premium cars.

So successful was this model that demand has outstripped supply, with orders for the third-generation Myvi reaching a cumulative 150,000 units.

“We thank all Malaysians for welcoming the Myvi into your homes with open arms. It really encourages and motivates us to keep improving so we can serve you better. At Perodua, we never forget that we are a People First company,” Zahari said.
