Internatio­nal art galore

Vto the 12th Internatio­nal Art Expo Malaysia (AEM) at the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) in Kuala Lumpur were treated to creative artworks by artists from 22 countries.

The event saw some 65 exhibitors (mainly galleries) showcasing 1,500 pieces of quality artworks (including paintings, sculptures, installati­on, photograph­y) of various styles, expression­s and medium, representi­ng a wide spectrum and making it the biggest art event in the country.

Local exhibitors included Henry Butcher Art Auctioneer­s, Masterpiec­e Auction, National Art Gallery Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia and Museum & Art Gallery, etc.

Co-founder and fair director Sim Pojinn said the event was aimed at promoting local galleries and artists to the world and educating the public on art appreciati­on and investment.
