TONIC FOR THE EYE

BRAND’S has launched Lutein Essence, a tonic with a special formula to protect eyes from overexposure to blue light from flourescent or LED lighting and devices such as mobile phones and flat screen televisions.

The tonic contains lutein and zeaxanthin, the two types of carotenoids which form the yellow to red pigments in vegetables and other plants. In nature, lutein and zeaxanthin are able to absorb excess light energy to prevent damage to plants from too much sunlight, especially from blue light.

The product has also been combined with blackcurrant extract with vitamin E for its antioxidant properties. It’s available now at major pharmacies and hypermarkets at RM41 for a six-bottle pack.
