Hasan also said the path along Jalan Merdeka will be totally closed to traffic from 2pm to allow riders to complete competition for the stage as they are expected to arrive by 3.30pm at Dataran Pahlawan (Warriors Square).

“For the 180km fourth stage from Muar to Putrajaya, it will also involve roads in the state from 11.30am to 12.30pm involving districts of Jasin and Alor Gajah, as well as Sungai Rambai, Merlimau, Kesang right up to Durian Tunggal, Pengkalan, Ayer Paabas and Lubok China.

“We would like to advice members of the public to plan ahead their travels and journeys during the race, especially parents who will be fetching their children from school,” said Hasan during a press conference at Melaka Police Headquarters in Bukit Beruang yesterday.

Hasan also reminded the public not to leave their livestock and farm animals to roam on public roads.

They are also advised to inform the police if there are landslides, flooding and accidents.

Hasan revealed that some 425 police personnel will be on duty throughout the two days of the LTdL in Melaka.

“We are appealing for patience, understanding and support from the people to make the race here a success, and we hope that road users will also give their full cooperation,” said Hasan.
