HEAD-MOUNTED VR DISPLAY

-

HTC has released the HTC VIVE Focus Plus. Specially designed to meet the demanding needs of commercial users, the HTC Vive Focus Plus offers both developers and business partners the benefits of enhanced optics.

The all-new fresnel lenses have been integrated into the HMD (head-mounted display) so that one can experience enhanced visuals, seeing objects in a life-like manner.

The new lenses also creates a crisper, true-to-life visual that is immersive, while the inclusion of dual 6DoF controllers accompanied by increased comfort for extended VR sessions and enhanced optics further blur the lines between reality and virtual reality.

The display is a 3K AMOLED (2880x 1600 resolution) screen, backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and a built-in speaker for decent audio playback.

A 4,000 mAh battery makes the device fine for more than just a simple presentation, while WiFi connectivity provides seamless streaming of content.

Accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, the VIVE Focus Plus can be charged via USB Type-C and features Quick Charge 3.0.

The VIVE WAVE Platform will power the HTC VIVE Focus Plus with VIVEPORT content, enabling users to access close to 250 Vive Wave applications.

The dual 6DoF controllers and its multimode capability ensures it will play nice with PC VR, PCs and laptops, smartphones, game consoles, 2D video streaming devices, live 360 camera streaming and upcoming Cloud VR services.

In addition, the Viveport Infinity Wave subscription programme for the Vive Focus already sports more than 70 premium titles, with new titles in the pipeline.

The HTC VIVE Focus Plus retails at US$799.
