TSC get their GC strategy right

-

is all going to plan for Team Sapura Cycling (TSC) so far at Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) this year as far as the General Classification (GC) is concerned.

TSC’s Australian rider Marcus Culey comfortably kept the yellow jersey after a relatively uneventful second stage for the GC men yesterday.

Culey also leads the sprint classification (green jersey) on 21 points.

“There were a few moments where it got a bit hectic but overall it was a successful mission for TSC today (yesterday).

“We are very happy to hang on to both jerseys,” said the 26-yearold yesterday.

“Yes, obviously everyone wants the yellow jersey. We were anticipating a few moves and there was a big break which went up the road but we had that covered.”

Culey added that the team’s main climber Benjamin Dyball (Australia) is primed for a strong move in the queen stage (fourth stage) of the race tomorrow.

“We are just taking it one step at a time at the moment.

“We will plan for tomorrow (today’s third stage) and hopefully, it will also end in a bunch kick like it did today (yesterday),” added Culey.

“The team have kept Benjamin well protected from the wind and he should be fresh and rested for stage four.”

The third stage today will begin in Muar and end in Putrajaya, covering a total distance of 192.6km.

It will feature three intermediate sprints at Simpang Ampat, Lubok Cina and Lukut as well as one categorised climb at Bukit Pelanduk.
