TM ONE to strengthen O&G technological expertise

-

KUALA LUMPUR:

TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), is strengthening its technological expertise in the oil and gas (O&G) industry.

TM ONE O&G vertical director Ahmad Salman Othman said the company was focusing on five areas, namely operational efficiency, digital collaboration, high-performance infrastructure, customer experience, and health, safety and environment.

“We need to go deep into the verticals and understand the business in terms of the actual operational point of view and how digital initiatives can help the O&G space, whether upstream, midstream or downstream,” he said in an interview recently.

O&G is one of the seven focus verticals of TM ONE. The others are banking and financial services, education, healthcare, public shared services, defence and security, and real estate.

TM ONE’s major O&G clients are mostly local and international companies with projects related to connectivity, data management, connected workforce, high-speed offshore network and radar security surveillance.

Salman said the TM group aimed to support Malaysia’s O&G industry, not just in the information and communication technology and connectivity domains but also in operational excellence.

TM ONE enterprise business executive vice-president Wan Ahmad Kamal Wan Halim said TM ONE had about 20 dedicated employees in the O&G verticals ranging from sales, presales consulting, industrial experts and business development to post-sales support.
