Cops to quiz Lokman over ‘Teh tarik with princes’

-

Police have opened an investigation paper under the Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Act in connection with the “Sesi Teh Tarik 4 Putera Mahkota Bersama Rakyat” event.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said this followed several police reports that were lodged against Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam.

“Yes, the police have reports on the programme. For the time being, the investigation is being carried out under the MCMC Act.

“However, we will see if there is a related act in the Penal Code that can be used,” he said after launching the Brickfields police headquarters here yesterday.

Present were acting Deputy IGP Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador, city police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim and Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Ruslan Khalid.

“The police may call him (Lokman) to complete the investigation paper as soon as possible.”

On Sunday, the Selangor Raja Muda’s office denied the involvement of Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in the “Sesi Teh Tarik 4 Putera Mahkota Bersama Rakyat” event organised by Umno.

Tengku Amir’s private secretary Saidatul Asyikin Muhammad Johar, in a statement, expressed her regret that the photo of the Raja Muda Selangor was used without the permission of the Selangor palace.

She said the public should not be easily influenced by false and misleading information, without official confirmation from the palace.

Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah also denied his involvement in the programme.

Palace sources said Tengku Hassanal had urged that his name not be used by any party without palace permission.

On Saturday, Lokman shared a poster of the programme on social media, which stated that it would be held at Mahkota Parade, Banda Hilir Melaka, at 5.30pm on Sunday.

The poster also featured a picture of Tengku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, Tengku Amir Shah, Tengku Hassanal and an unnamed prince.

However, an hour later, Lokman said the event would most likely not take place because he had received several phone calls.
