FORUM ON VACCINATION

IN conjunction with World Immunisation Week 2019 themed Protected Together, Vaccines Work, Universiti Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC) and Pfizer held a public awareness forum titled Vaccination for Children and Travel at Connexion Nexus, Bangsar, on April 20.

The forum emphasised on pneumococcal prevention and the importance of vaccination for children, adults and travellers to prevent life-threatening health situations. The forum was followed by a week-long campaign at UMSC to expand public awareness on pneumococcal disease, which the World Health Organisation states is the world’s number one vaccine-preventable cause of death among infants and children below 5 years old.
