1 WHAT IS YOUR WEEKLY EXERCISE ROUTINE?

Crossfit usually five to six times a week and swimming once a week.

2 WHAT IS YOUR FITNESS AIM?

To have the capability to live life to the fullest. I want to be strong enough to move furniture and fit enough to hike mountains.

3 ARE YOU A GYM JUNKIE OR OUTDOOR EXERCISER?

A bit of both. I love the community we have at my gym but, give me an opportunit­y to exercise outside, and I’ll take it too.

4 HOW DO YOU GET OVER BEING TOO LAZY TO EXERCISE?

Usually, I go straight to the gym from work so I don’t give myself an opportunit­y to back out.

5 WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE WORKOUT? Anything that involves deadlifts, or swimming.

6 WHAT IS THE ONE JUNK FOOD YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Salt and vinegar chips and chocolate.

7 HOW LONG DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT? About eight hours.

8 WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PREEXERCIS­E/PRE-RACE FUEL? Coffee.

9 HOW DO YOU RECOVER FROM A HARD WORKOUT?

Swim, stretch and eat a healthy meal.

10 HOW DO YOU PREVENT INJURY?

By ensuring I warm up properly before a workout and stretch after a workout.

11 WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO GET PEOPLE TO EXERCISE?

I think Nike’s got it all figured out — “Just Do It”.

12 WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SOURCE OF PROTEIN?

Meat and vegetables. I’m not a fan of protein shakes or supplement­s so I ensure I get enough protein through a balanced diet.

13 ARE YOU PRO OR ANTI-CARBOHYDRA­TE?

Everything in moderation. Choosing the “right” carb is important. Complex carbs are the best option.

14 DO YOU PREFER TO EXERCISE INDIVIDUAL­LY OR IN A GROUP?

A group is always more fun. I enjoy having people share the experience.
