-

The 10-episode Keluarga Baha Don ,as its title suggests, is the story of Mafia boss Baha Don, played by veteran director Othman Hafsham (the man behind gems such as Mekanik, 2+1 and Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu).

Baha Don has many businesses, most notably a fine-dining French restaurant, to hide his criminal activities, and has chosen his second son, Joe (Remy) as heir to the “family firm”.

Honest-to-goodness Joe is a chef who studied in France and knows little about his father’s empire, until he returns home after the death of his father.

As thenew“don”,heiseagertochange the way things are run and wants to “clean up” his father’s business.

With help from his mother Mama Don (Susan Lankester), elder brother Mat (Khir), family friend Hui (Indi Nadarajah) and longtime business friends Little Kok (Alvin Wong) and Harry Kok (Douglas), Joe learns the ropes of being a Mafia boss. He reluctantly “gets dirty” keeping his father’s empire safe from rival crime lords.

Keluarga Baha Don, says producer Lankester, is her “labour of love” and dedicated to her sifu in television and film, Hafsham. womaniser. He is ruthless, dishonest and aggressive. But he is also crazy and funny. Mat loves 1970s fashion such as bell-bottoms.

Remy: I play Joe, the second son of Baha Don. I am the new family don but I want to be a chef. Joe has married Suzy Faye Kok, the daughter of his father’s friend, Little Kok. This is the condition for him to become his father’s successor. Joe can be slow at making decisions because he respects his mother and brother and values their opinions.

Mark: I am Angelito Jericho Papito, Mat’s hitman friend. He is brave and unpredictable but clumsy.

Othman: I play Baha Don. He appears in three episodes, one, seven and 10. Baha has a business empire and is a cunning old man. He has a French restaurant and heads and a human trafficking syndicate. Joe is his favourite son and heir.

Douglas: I am Harry Kok. I’m not highly educated but street smart. Kok is the business partner and younger brother of Little Kok. Both run a seafood business. We are also loan sharks. Little is full of ideas but Harry is the brawny one.

Aleysha: I play Ucu, the sister of Mat and Joe. She is a business student and loves Gothic fashion, despite Mama Don’s displeasure. She is the audience’s point of view. She is the most normal character despite her freaky appearance.

Indi: I am Hui, and I grew up with the family. I was adopted by Mama Don’s parents and I am like an uncle to her children. I observe hits by Joe. I make sure he gets his jobs done properly.

Melissa: I play Suzy Faye Kok and this is my comeback role in Malaysia. Suzy is the opposite of her father Little. She is prim and proper while he is more easy-going. Suzy is married to Joe but they are not supposed to love each other.

Chelsia: I am the shrink with no name. I play a psychiatrist who is actually a gangster. I’m also a good friend of Suzy and a guest star in episodes one and seven.
