-

IT’S now or never! Here is the last chance for Boyzone’s fans to bid a final farewell to the iconic Irish pop group. They will be back in Kuala Lumpur to perform their Last Ever Concert at the Malawati Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam on June 14.

Boyzone first performed in Kuala Lumpur in August 2018 to commemorate the Boyzone 25th Anniversary celebration. During the concert, Boyzone’s members Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy said that they were working on an upcoming album and promised to return to Kuala Lumpur “soon”.

Boyzone has already performed in several countries in Asia namely Indonesia (Jakarta), Hong Kong (Kowloon Bay),

and Thailand (Nonthaburi Province) early this year.

The group’s next Asian locations will include Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, the Philippines and Japan.

Boyzone was formed by producer Louis Walsh in 1993 and broke up in 1999. However, they made a comeback in 2007. Their most famous line-up comprised Duffy, Graham, Keating, Lynch and the late Stephen Gately. They had 21 singles in the Top 40 UK Charts and 22 singles in the Irish charts.

Boyzone has had six No.1 singles in the UK and nine in Ireland.

They have had seven studio albums namely Said And Done (1995), A Different Beat (1996), Where We Belong (1998), Brother (2010), BZ20 (2013), Dublin To Detroit (2014), and Thank You And Goodnight (2018).

Boyzone’s initial hits were Key To My Life and So Good, as well as two cover versions of Love Me For A Reason, originally recorded by the Osmonds and Father And Son (Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens).

Other hits included Coming Home Now, A Different Beat, and Picture Of You which was the theme song for Rowan Atkinson’s Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie in 1997.

Keating and Gately (who died in 2009) had successful solo careers, Duffy also became an actor on British television, while Walsh became a judge on reality talent show The X Factor.

Keating’s best known hit single has been When You Say Nothing At All, the theme song from the 1999 romantic comedy Notting Hill, which starred Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

Boyzone has won numerous music awards, such as the Brit Award for Best International Group (1999), MTV Europe Music Award for Best Album for By Request (1999), and the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song (Picture Of You).

Boyzone recently completed some live outdoor shows including a special guest performance at the British Summertime Festival in London’s Hyde Park.
