HISTORY OF KAMPUNG BARU

• Opened in 1899 as the largest Malay settlement in Kuala Lumpur • Land of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Alauddin Sulaiman Syah Raja Muda Musa (Sultan Sulaiman).

• Original area – 89 hectares

• Malay Agricultur­al Settlement (MAS) is set up based on the provisions of Section 3 (1) The Malay Agricultur­al Settlement (Kuala Lumpur) Rules 1950.

• Administra­tion and control of Kampung Baru under the authority

of the MAS Administra­tor Board.

• MAS may make its own by-laws and is responsibl­e for approving and setting the terms of the building plan.

• 1965 - Land grant issued to residents

• 2012 - Kampung Baru Developmen­t Corporatio­n (PKB) was establishe­d

• 2014 - Kampung Baru Detailed Developmen­t Masterplan (PITPKB) announced

• 2015 - PITPKB launched
