Petronas introduces mobile refuelling sevice

- Amirul Hazmi

PETROLIAM Nasional Berhad (Petronas) has introduced ROVR, the first mobile refuelling service.

The solution, which is offered by the company’s retail arm Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB), is the first service of its kind in Malaysia.

The thinking behind ROVR’s innovative service is to allow seamless and safe refuelling for both commercial and everyday drivers, beyond conventional petrol stations.

Since its pilot in Oct 2018, ROVR has been serving commercial B2B customers — and has so far delivered over 1 million litres of fuel.

End consumers (B2C) will soon have access to ROVR with the latest Petronas Primax95 with Pro-Drive at high-traffic hotspots.

“At PDB, we invest heavily in understanding the customer journey, and we address the frictions in their daily lives by offering progressive solutions. ROVR provides a new refuelling experience, and we are excited to have our customers be the first in Malaysia to experience this.

“We have received positive feedback from our B2B customers and we are ready to cater to more. We want our customers to move like never before, as we continue to deliver a seamless and frictionless customer experience,” said PDB managing director Datuk Sri Syed Zainal Abidin.

With ROVR delivering Petronas Dynamic Diesel to B2B customers, it affords a hassle-free experience in the logistical management of fleets. The refuelling process can now be done at the customers’ premises.

Chief financial officer of Landbridge Haulage (M) Sdn Bhd Sua Hee Yuen said: “I am pleased with this new offering from PDB. It’s not easy for our large trucks to navigate on roads, and some stations set a limitation on large commercial vehicles.

“With ROVR, we just schedule for fuel deliveries, and ROVR trucks and Rangers will show up for our drivers to refuel without the need to leave the yard or take a detour.

“This definitely eases logistical planning, reduces costs and improves our time management.”

ROVR trucks are safe and certified for fuel delivery and dispensing; and meet stringent health, safety, security and environmental requirements.

The current fleet includes one 4,000-litre and three 11,000-litre capacity trucks for commercial customers.

ROVR’s 3,000-litre capacity truck for B2Cs is at its pilot stage.
