MAN TRUCK UNVEILS THE XLION PRIME MOVER
MAN Truck and Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN) has unveiled its MAN XLION special model at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo (MCVE) 2019 in Kuala Lumpur recently.
The MAN TGS 33.480, 6x4 prime mover, with its XLION lion design on the sides of the cab, is powered by the D2676 engine that generates 480hp and a maximum torque of 2,300Nm. It is mated to the MAN Tipmatic transmission.
It is equipped with a double cylinder air compressor and air dryer, fourspoke multi-function steering wheel, hydraulic cab tilting mechanism and double-reduction rear axles.
The MAN genuine roof top air-conditioner RTX 2000 allows the driver to rest comfortably in the cab without running the engine.
“We are excited to announce the MAN XLION, which is the result of proven reliability after more than 100 years of MAN Truck history and experience,” said its managing director Richard Frenz at the unveiling ceremony.
The XLION equipment is available in three packages - the Aerodynamic package, the Safety package and the Mechanical and Electrical package. There is also the XLION after-sales service package.
The Aerodynamic package, which is available in all TG series, is for the L and LX CAB. It comprises a roof spoiler and side panels with two movable side flaps.
The Safety package includes an exhaust valve brake (EVB), emergency stopping signal (ESS), anti-spin regular (ASR) and anti-jackknife brake (AJK-B).
Meanwhile, the Mechanical and Electrical package includes LED rear lights, daytime driving lights, idle shut down and aluminium rims.
“The packages have been put together so that companies can benefit from the added value and drivers can rest easy in the comfort of their MAN vehicles,” Frenz said.
The MAN XLION after-sales package consists of the MAN Service Contracts and MAN ProfiDrive sector-specific training programme.
Man Service Contracts cover maintenance and repairs with exclusive use of MAN genuine parts and MAN genuine parts Ecoline. All MAN parts and repairs come with a two-year warranty.
The MAN ProfiDrive programme can be conducted anywhere, and covers practical driving skills for drivers, as well as theoretical aspects on safety, economy and vehicle inspection.
