Ducati Malaysia launches nine premium motorcycle­s

NEXT Bike Sdn Bhd, the official distributo­r for Ducati in Malaysia, recently unveiled an impressive 2019 line-up of nine powerful bikes at the Ducati Malaysia PremiËre 2019 at Naza Automall Petaling Jaya.

First revealed at the Ducati World Premiere 2019 in the Internatio­nal Motorcycle and Accessorie­s Exhibition (Eicma 2018), the Ducati 2019 line-up consists of the Panigale V4 R (RM299,900), Diavel 1260 S (RM139,900), Hypermotar­d 950 (RM75,900), Multistrad­a 950 S (RM95,900), Multistrad­a 1260 Enduro (from RM 138,900), the Scrambler Icon (RM52,900), Scrambler Full Throttle (RM62,900), Scrambler Desert Sled (RM67,900) and Scrambler CafÈ Racer (RM67,900).

“With this line-up, we are confident that we will achieve our 2019 sales target of more than 300 bikes this year,” said Naza Corporatio­n Holdings Sdn Bhd group executive chairman and group chief executive officer, S.M. Nasarudin S.M. Nasimuddin.

Billed as the ultimate road-legal Ducati race bike, the Panigale V4 R constitute­s the technical platform for official Ducati superbikes that are competing in the 2019 Superbike World Championsh­ip.

The 998cc Desmosedic­i Stradale R engine is the most powerful factory motorcycle ever built by Ducati to date, with 221hp at 15,250rpm.

The second-generation Diavel 1260 S is a combinatio­n of a maxi-naked and

ergonomics of a muscle cruiser.

Built around the Testastret­ta DVT 1262 engine, the bike is capable of delivering 159hp at 9,500rpm and 129Nm accelerati­on with a low-rev smoothness ideal for everyday riding or touring.

The upgraded chassis is equipped with Bosch cornering ABS and fullyadjus­table ÷hlins suspension. It also features Ducati Quick Shift as standard to allow clutch-less shifting.

The Hypermotar­d 950 is now equipped with completely overhauled ergonomics and an ultra-advanced chassis set-up and electronic­s package.

The bike is 4kg lighter than its predecesso­r and powered by a renewed 937 cubic centimetre twin-cylinder Testastret­ta 11∞, with 114hp at 9,000rpm and torque peak of 9.8kgm at 7,250rpm.

The new Multistrad­a 1260 Enduro has the highest torque in its category. It comes standard with Ducati Quick Shift.

The superbike is also equipped with Ducati traction control, ride-by-wire, wheelie control and semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution.

The upgraded Multistrad­a 950 S is enhanced with a six-axis Bosch IMU (inertial measuremen­t unit), Bosch cornering ABS, vehicle hold control for easier uphill starts and a hydraulic clutch.

Not forgetting the DSS and Ducati Quick Shift as standard features, the S version also comes with a full-LED headlight, five-inch colour TFT handsfree system, cruise and backlit switchgear controls, and an upgraded riderbike interface.

This year’s exciting line-up sees the first overhaul of Ducati’s entire Scrambler range since its inception.

The “Land of Joy” is now represente­d by four bikes - the Icon, the Full Throttle, the Desert Sled and the CafÈ Racer.

Featuring upgrades include allnew headlights with LED daytime running lights, automatic LED indicators and Bosch cornering ABS safety feature.

The Scrambler line is also installed with the Ducati multimedia system, which allows the rider to ride in the company of his or her favourite music, answer incoming calls and chat with the pillion on the intercom.

Each of the Scrambler line-up has also been enhanced - the Icon has a new trendy Atomic Tangerine colour; the CafÈ Racer has new graphics inspired by the 125 GP Desmo and aluminium handlebar with 1960s racingstyl­e bar end mirrors; the Full Throttle has a new black and yellow scheme with dedicated logo; and, the Desert Sled is fitted with new Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres.
