Proton unveils new logo, tagline

- Siti Syameen Md Khalili

PROTON Holdings Bhd has unveiled a new logo and tagline to mark the culmination of its evolution following its global partnership with China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group in 2017.

While maintaining the tiger icon in its design, the national car’s logo has been refreshed to feature a bolder looking emblem with sleek silver finish. The “uncaged” tiger emblem will be used on Proton’s new offerings beginning with the upcoming locally-assembled version of the X70 sport utility vehicle.

With the new logo comes a new tagline of “Inspiring Connections” to represent Proton’s aim to use technology and mobility to make human connections that inspire a successful life.

Proton hopes this will be achieved by injecting three core values, namely innovative technology, reliability and international, across its products and services.

It has posted a 36 per cent growth in a market that saw a five per cent decrease in total sales so far this year, making it the only major manufacturer to have recorded a double-digit growth.

“We strive to offer better products and services,” said Proton chief executive officer Dr Li Chunrong.

Proton chairman Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar said its strong workforce and network, including the 102 3S and 4S centres nationwide, would collectively continue to do better in the future.

“Proton will continue to make the best cars that meet Malaysians’ needs, make no mistake, but we will do this as a globally-competitive company.”

It now aims to become one of the top three carmakers in the Asean region and hopes to attract more global talent.
