Paedophile Huckle stabbed to death in jail

-

Richard Huckle, who earned the moniker “Britain’s worst paedophile” for his assault on countless children, including in Malaysia, was reportedly stabbed to death in his jail cell on Sunday.

His bloodied body was found in his top floor cell at HMP Full Sutton, a Category A jail near York that houses many of Britain’s most notorious and violent prisoners, the Daily Mail reported.

It was learnt that Huckle was stabbed to death with a makeshift knife, commonly known as a shiv.

The report said an inmate had been placed in isolation as police geared up for a murder probe.

Huckle had spent his education gap year in Malaysia from 2005 to 2006. He returned in 2010, posing as a freelance photographer and English teacher.

Masquerading as a devoted Christian and English teacher, he gained access to children through churches, schools and orphanages in Kuala Lumpur.

He gave children alcohol and drugs, abused them and shared his acts with other paedophiles on the dark web, all the while maintaining the facade that he cared about children.

He was arrested in London in 2014 after an Australian detective unit discovered his activities in an encrypted room on the dark web where members exchanged child sex abuse images and tips.

Reports said Huckle had filmed himself raping children and babies. From age 19, he reportedly amassed around 20,000 images of child abuse that he sold for profit.

In 2016, he was given 22 life sentences by a London court after admitting to 71 charges of sex abuse against children in Malaysia and Cambodia. His youngest victim was 6 months old.

The judge at his trial had noted that his victims likely numbered around 200.

A BBC Three investigative report on Huckle in 2017, titled “The Gap Year Paedophile”, said he kept a diary of the grotesque acts he committed against children, including those in Malaysia.
