CUSTOMERS come first at an eatery in Kampung Sungai Limau, Lekir, here.

Hence, the two siblings behind the business have kept the cost of their dishes at RM1.50.

Halimah As Saadiah M. Kadiri, 29, and Rabiah Assyamiah, 34, serve up to 10 dishes, including nasi lemak, laksa, meehoon and kuay teow soup.

Halimah said the idea to sell the dishes at RM1.50 was proposed by their father, M. Kadiri Tahir, 68, when they opened the eatery about a year ago.

“Previously, only nasi lemak was sold at RM1.50 here while the other dishes were sold at RM3. However, three weeks ago, my father told us to standardise the prices, so we set the prices of all the dishes at RM1.50.

“Since we introduced the new price, we have been receiving customers not only from the village here but also from outside the district.

“We do not want to disappoint our customers, so we make sure that all the dishes here are not only cheap but also delicious,” Halimah said at her eatery here yesterday.

She said they also sold three types of roti canai — roti biasa, roti telur and roti boom — as well as lempeng pisang ( b anana pancake).

This unique dish is cooked with pisang nangka and pisang emas and marked at the same price as the other offerings.

“The stall operates from 7am to 7pm daily and we are closed on Wednesdays,” Halimah said, adding that the simple family-run outlet could be considered a rarity as most of the dishes sold elsewhere were priced between RM3 and RM6.
