KOGUBESTore to change way schools buy items
Koperasi Guru Besar Selangor Sdn Bhd (Kogubest), in collaboration with NCS Worldwide Sdn Bhd, has established a new e-commerce platform known as KOGUBESTore, available at www.kogubest.com.
Present at the launch was National Cooperative Movement of Malaysia Bhd (Angkasa) president Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah.
The goal of KOGUBESTore was to change the way schools buy items and equipment.
“Through this platform, school principals can coordinate the process of purchasing school supplies and equipment to suit their respective schools’ needs faster, more efficiently and with complete assurance of quality,” Fattah said.
Kogubest chairman Sukimin Juki said the target markets were primary and secondary schools in Selangor and other states, as well as general buyers.
“Kogubest is advocating the shop-and-donate concept which would help parentteacher associations in schools accumulate funds that can be channelled to procure necessary school equipment.”
NCS managing director Datuk Nazmi Talib said the e-procurement portal housed an online store to also promote education and family-based products as well as services to all Selangor residents, and every online shopper in Malaysia.
Kogubest board member Latifah Latif said KOGUBESTore would also offer educational materials and services.
“For now we are launching the sale of school uniforms to capture the back-to-school market and more products will be available next year. We performed well in 2018.
“The change in management led to the rebranding of the cooperative to Kogubest and we are confident that the revenue in 2020 will be more than RM7 million for Selangor alone.
“We are targeting to boost our income by putting our platform through digital e-commerce so that we can widen the scale of our business nationwide.
“This platform will open up our business plan better as it is accessible to anybody including parents, student, teachers and parent-teacher associations.”
