Fashion label makes fragrance debut

-

THOM Browne is the latest fashion label expanding into fragrance.

The US designer’s eponymous brand is tipped to launch its first-ever series of six scents next month, reports WWD.

The collection, designed for both men and women, revolves around a core ingredient of vetiver, with each eau de parfum boasting three vetiver extracts.

Each scent is named 09.27.65, in a reference to the creative’s date of birth, followed by the numbers 01 to 06.

“I appreciate fragrances that confidently and unabashedly stand on their own, fragrances that provoke emotion,” Browne said of the collection.

There has been a boost in the number of fashion brands putting their stamp on the perfume business over the past few years, with AllSaints making its debut into the sector in 2018 with a trio of fragrances, and the luxury fashion house of Celine launching an “haute perfumerie” scent collection this month.

Meanwhile, designers Rebecca Minkoff and Monique Lhuillier are both rumoured to be rolling out fragrances in 2020, according to WWD.

The news comes as the house prepares to unveil its Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear womenswear collection during Paris Fashion Week.
