Mum grieves for crash victim son on FB

-

A mother wrote a heartfelt post on Facebook to her eldest son, who died in a road crash at Bayan Lepas on Thursday evening.

Siti Hajar Ghazali recalled the moments with her son, Muhammad Saifullah Muhammad Hafiez, whom she fondly calls Chaq.

“Chaq, I am not strong, you are our life. You are the one who taught me to become a mother and a friend.

“Thank you for being a wonderful son.

“Even when you were tired, you’d still did what I had told you to do.

“Now, rest my darling. Wait for me, your dad and your brothers and sisters there.

“We accept this as Allah’s will. He gave you to us for only a brief 16 years and five months,” she posted.

In the 6.30pm incident, the 16 year-old died at the scene after being hit by a bus, which lost control after crashing into a parked Proton Waja and a Suzuki Swift at Persiaran Kelicap.

Saifullah, who worked parttime at a Pizza Hut outlet, was on his way to deliver food when the accident occurred.

The bus came to a halt after smashing into the wall of a house.

The driver of the Suzuki Swift and two other passengers sustained injuries and were given treatment at a hospital nearby.

Saifullah’s remains were buried at the Bayan Lepas Muslim cemetery at 11am yesterday.

Police said the 49-year-old bus driver, who did not possess a valid driving licence, tested positive for methamphetamine.

“He has been remanded for two days from today (yesterday),” Southwest district police chief Superintendent A.A. Anbalagan said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
