US wants WW2 soldier remains
The United States would like to strengthen military cooperation with China, including repatriating the remains of American soldiers killed in the country during World War 2, a Pentagon official said on Friday. Defence Secretary Mark Esper will meet his Chinese counterpart, General Wei Fenghe, on the sidelines of a meeting in Bangkok next week, said an official. The US fought alongside Chiang Kai-shek’s nationalist army in China against Japan between 1942 and 1944, in what is dubbed the ChinaBurma-India theatre.
