436 arrested in Sarawak over drugs


KUCHING: Police arrested 436 people in drug operations last month. State Narcotics Crime Investigat­ion Department chief Superinten­dent Hasnir Abdul Hamid said 40 people were nabbed for allegedly supplying drugs, with 130 arrested for other drug-related offences. Another 266 were picked up after testing positive for drugs. Twelve people were arrested under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Prevention Measures) Act 1985. “We have taken measures to arrest syndicates or individual­s engaged in drug traffickin­g through intelligen­ce and investigat­ive activities.”
