Exclusive stamp series on Batman

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd has launched a Batman-themed stamp series, in collaboration with Warner Brothers Consumer Products and DC Comics.

The limited-edition stamp series pays homage to the comic and silver screen superhero, in conjunction with its 80th anniversary, and is available in two sets of collectible stamps.

Pos Malaysia executive vice-president Schrene Goh said the launch would hopefully encourage Batman fans, especially the younger generation, to start the hobby of collecting stamps.

“We hope this series can be added to their existing Batman collections like figurines, mugs, diaries and more,” Goh said at the launch of the Batman 80 Years: Stamp Folder Set here yesterday.

The first set of collectible stamps is a complete folder consisting of two sheets of perforated Batman stamps and one sheet featuring a ‘Batman 80 Years’ logo stamp with a premium holographic foil printing technique. Also in the folder set are two pieces of souvenir covers with five stamps on each, three pieces of Batman-themed postcards and one piece of the Dark Knight folder with special die-cut and spot UV effects.

There are 8,000 sets available, at RM120 each.

Pos Malaysia has also made available 40,000 special packs, each consisting of a miniature sheet with three Batman stamps, a presentation pack with tear-off postcards and one Batman-themed special envelope sold for only RM10.

Present at the launch were Pos Malaysia chief executive officer Syed Md Najib Syed Md Noor and Pacific Licensing Studio’s associate director Keith Ng.
