Three leaked recordings allegedly revolve around former DPP

-

Three audio recordings of conversations released by the Malaysian AntiCorruption Commission (MACC) yesterday appeared to revolve around an individual believed to be Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad, who was deputy public prosecutor in the Attorney-General’s Chambers in 2016.

It is understood that Dzulkifli was featured in conversations with two individuals

— Baling member of parliament Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and Tan Sri Shukri Salleh, who was chief private secretary to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

MACC claimed that the three recordings were from Jan 17, Jan 22 and Feb 26, 2016.

In one conversation at 12.20pm on Jan 17, 2016, Dzulkifli was heard providing an update to Azeez on the developments of a case related to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and SRC International Sdn Bhd scandals.

Dzulkifli was heard asking for the developments to be relayed to Najib.

“I just wanted to inform you that I have completed it last Thursday. One has been done, the second one just now. So everything has been completed. Tomorrow (inaudible) morning, we will review it again.

“Tomorrow, there’s a meeting with Tan Sri... No idea yet on what it’s about, maybe to present the review. Send it back there (inaudible). I will update Datuk.”

In another recording at 10.12pm on Jan 22, 2016, Dzulkfli contacted Azeez again to inform him that there were additional individuals involved in the SRC International case, namely Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, her husband, Najib, and two others — Datuk Dr Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman and Datuk Abdul Aziz Ismail, who were signatories given authority by Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd.

In that conversation, Dzulkifli said there were no changes in the charge sheet, although moves were in place to have the papers reviewed.

“It’s the same, Datuk Seri. We’ll send it back because we’ve directed a second question to them so they can review it again.”

On Feb 26, 2016 at 11.56pm, Dzulkifli received a phone call from Najib’s chief private secretary, Shukri, requesting for a complete set of the charge sheet.

Dzulkifli said he did not have the papers and that it could be obtained from someone in MACC.

“I don’t have the complete set with me. We’ll have to ask MACC, our friend. I’ll get what I can. We’ll talk further.”
