Johor PH convention to highlight state govt’s initiatives
JOHOR BARU: Johor Pakatan Harapan will organise a convention in April to highlight the initiatives that the coalition has implemented since taking over the state government following the 14th General Election.
Johor PH chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the convention was an opportunity for the PH leadership at all levels to give their feedback on important issue, including state and federal government policies.
“It is appropriate that after two years (in power), we organise a convention because there are a lot of efforts that the state government have made that the people are unaware of.
“The convention will highlight all the initiatives that the state government has implemented and the direction for the future.”
He said the convention’s details would be announced by the organising committee, headed by Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.
Muhyiddin was speaking after chairing the Johor PH meeting at the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia office here.
“There will also be a convention by the Youth and Women’s wings,” Muhyiddin said.
He said during the meeting, it was agreed that Sahruddin would be appointed Johor PH deputy chairman.
“This will allow Sahruddin to actively participate in Johor PH and provide information (to the coalition) on issues in Johor.
“This information will be useful for Johor PH. The Johor PH leadership will also be able to give their opinion on issues.”
Sahruddin is now one of five Johor PH deputy chairmen, including Johor Bersatu chairman Mazlan Bujang, Johor PKR chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong and Johor Parti Amanah Negara chairman Aminolhuda Hassan.
On the possible formation of a unity government with Umno and Pas, Muhyiddin said the matter was not discussed at the meeting.
