Water supply resumes in 26 out of 56 areas in Gombak
REPAIR works on the burst pipe at the Hulu Kelang Pump House were completed ahead of schedule.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the repair works were completed ahead of schedule at 2.30pm yesterday. A statement released in the morning had said repair works would only be completed at 6.30pm.
“Services have resumed to affected areas and at 6pm, 44.8 per cent or 26 areas out of the 57 affected areas in Gombak saw their water supply return.
“All efforts are being made by Air Selangor to accelerate the process of supply recovery to minimise the impact of the disruption to customers.”
The recovery of water supply will take place in stages based on the altitude of the respective housing areas.
“Residential areas located near the distribution system are expected to receive their supply sooner,” the statement said.
Areas still awaiting for water supply to resume are AEON Big Ampang; Kampung Tasik Permai; Taman Permai Jaya Ampang; Ampang Waterfront; Kampung/Taman Tasek Tambahan; Taman Sering Ukay; Apartment Mesra Prima Tinjani Ukay; Taman Sri Ampang; Apartment Mesra Ria; Taman Beverly Heights; Taman Sri Baru Ampang; Apartment Mesra Villa; Taman Bukit Ampang; Taman Sri Bayu Ampang; Bandar Baru Ampang; Taman Bukit Jubina; Taman Sri Merdeka; Kampung Ampang Campuran; Taman Bukit Mulia; Taman Ukay Seraya; Kampung Ampang Indah; Taman Dagang Permai; Taman Ukay Tropika; Kampung Indah Permai; Taman Fairuza Ampang; Taman Watan; Kampung Muhibah Ampang; Taman Halaman Kesuma Ukay Bestari; Kampung Sungai Sering and Taman Kelab Ukay.
Before yesterday morning’s incident, two other pipes had burst in Ampang — one on Feb 5 in Taman Ukay Heights and another at the Taman Ampang Utama pipe alignment.
