Tampin offers ecotourism, extreme sports

-

THE Tampin district, located along the border of Negri Sembilan and Melaka, may not be as popular as other tourist destinations such as Port Dickson, which is famous for its pristine and picturesque beaches.

However, the district offers interesting places for ecotourism and extreme sports enthusiasts.

Located 46km from Seremban and 44km from Melaka, Tampin boasts two attractions for visitors, namely Tampin Extreme Park and Tampin Water Park. Both attractions are located near Gunung Tampin.

Tampin Extreme Park operations manager Muhammad Uzair Abdul Malek said visitors interested in extreme sports could try out various activities including rock climbing, abseiling, flying fox and tree climbing.

“Tampin Extreme Park is one of the most popular rock-climbing spots as it offers granite climbing and climbers love it. Rock climbing enthusiasts will be entertained and visitors will gain a new experience. They can also go jungle-trekking and waterfall abseiling as the park is close to the Gunung Tampin Forest Reserve.”

He said visitors should try waterfall abseiling as it was an interesting experience.

“Through waterfall abseiling, visitors can enjoy the challenge of hiking the waterfall and see spectacular sceneries of flora and fauna.”

The admission fee is RM30 and the park recorded 2,729 visitors last year, he said.
