-

Efforts are being intensified to stock up fresh frozen fish, through the National Fishermen’s Association, especially during the current surplus fish harvest season. The Fisheries Department in a statement yesterday said the move was to ensure a sufficient supply of fish in the peninsula to brace for the upcoming monsoon season. Among the species being stocked are kembung, selayang,

cencaru, selar and pelaling which are the choice of most Malaysians, he said. On the current high supply of

ikan kembung which has gone viral on social media, the department said this was due to increase in harvest at areas five nautical miles off the coast at the northern part of the peninsula.
