Tabung Haji branches to open in stages starting today

KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) branch offices will open in stages starting today.

TH, in a statement, said, the operation hours for the branch offices would be from 10am to 3pm with limited services being offered, ranging from opening accounts; account deposit and withdrawal services, and updating accounts to haj registrati­ons.

“Haj-related affairs such as offers to perform haj and passport submission­s, however, are being postponed until TH receives the official decision on the haj status for the 1441H/2020 season from the Saudi government.”

TH added it would only allow a limited number of people to be inside the branch offices at the same time to ensure effective social distancing protocol.

All depositors who want to visit the branch offices should wear masks and practice social distancing in the premises, it said.

“For health and safety reasons, TH will conduct body temperatur­e screening and provide hand sanitisers on site.

“TH depositors are encouraged to use online banking services at www.thijari.com.my or any Internet banking services offered by TH strategic banking partners.”

On the opening of the branch offices, TH said, it was in line with the government’s objective to stimulate the country’s economy which had been affected by the Movement Control Order aimed at curbing the spread of Covid19.

The 59 branch offices set to open starting from today are those in Kangar, Padang Besar, Alor Setar, Jitra, Kulim, Sungai Petani, Baling, Guar Chempedak, Kuala Nerang, Pendang, TH Langkawi service centre, Bayan Lepas, Kepala Batas, Ipoh, Bagan Serai, Teluk Intan, Kuala Kangsar, Taiping, Gerik, Sitiawan, Slim River, Parit Buntar, Tapah, Tanjung Malim and Bota.

In Kuala Lumpur, the Federal Territory branch office at Kuala Lumpur Sentral and the one located at Jalan Tun Razak will be open.

Those in Selangor can proceed to the TH branch office in Kelana Jaya.

Other branch offices are in Melaka, Seremban, Port Dickson, Tampin, Jelebu, Gemas, Johor Baru, Kuantan, Temerloh, Pekan, Kuala Lipis, Muadzam Shah, Bandar Tun Razak Jengka, Bentong, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Kota Baru, Machang, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Gua Musang, Jeli, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Semporna, Kudat, Kuching, Sibu and Sri Aman.
