FASHIONVALET’S popular online Ramadan bazaar, FVBazaar, is now offering choices from 5,000 food vendors nationwide to consumers in the country.

Launched on April 17 as a way to support local food businesses affected by the Movement Control Order (MCO), the bazaar has attracted vendors from all over Malaysia.

FVBazaar is open to home cooks, bakers and all food and beverage operators, with no listing fee or commission needed to be paid by the vendors.

“We wanted to find a way to support local food businesses when the MCO started because many restaurants could not open and small food stalls could not operate.

“We have very high traffic to our website daily, so we thought, why not use that to help local food vendors?

“We act as the listing site and let them enjoy the traffic to our website,” said FashionValet cofounder Datin Vivy Sofinas Yusof, who started the online fashion platform with her husband, Datuk Fadzarudin Shah Anuar.

FVBazaar has vendors from Kelantan, Johor, Perlis, Melaka and even Sabah and Sarawak.

Some vendors are getting up to 100 orders a day and are seeing their businesses thriving.

Vivy said food and beverages available were diverse, from fresh and frozen food to snacks, drinks and desserts.

Many Ramadan favourites are available, such as roti jala, pulut kuning with chicken rendang,

serunding and traditional kuih such as kuih keria and beras terbakar.

Cakes, tarts and cookies are also available.

She said besides independent food operators, restaurants too had come on board to list their products on FVBazaar.

“Consumers have many options of food and drinks. It’s like a huge online pasar malam. These services are often limited to the Klang Valley, but this one covers other states as well.”

She said consumers dealt directly with vendors when making purchases and payments, and delivery would be arranged by vendors using a legitimate delivery service provider.

Vivy added that consumers could filter and search by state or food type/category, such as Chinese, Indian or Thai, or pastries, pizza or street food.

“This is a great way to shop for food during Ramadan because it’s convenient, safe and with a lot of choices.”
