AMS Metal Group: One-stop aluminium supplier
AMS Metal Group Sdn Bhd aims to penetrate the Sabah, Sarawak, Thai and Indonesian markets under part of its five-year expansion plan.
AMS is principally involved in the manufacturing and distribution of aluminium raw materials, profile, sheets, foil and coils.
Managing director Keith Keh said the company wanted to meet rising demand for high-quality aluminium products.
AMS, which has been operating since June 2015, was established in Singapore and now has five warehouses — two in Johor, and one each in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Thailand.
In Johor, it has two distribution plants in Taman Ekoperniagaan and a manufacturing plant in Setia Utama.
“The company operates on a business-to-business basis, with its customers coming from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.
“The raw materials produced are used in the electronics, automotive, aerospace and industrial sectors, as well as production of machine components, car porch and home decor products, among others.
“What sets us apart from our competitors is that we distribute various forms of aluminium such as plates, sheets and extrusion foil and coils, even as we focus on interior design innovations to meet our customers’ specifications,” he told the New Straits Times recently.
The company has more than 70 local employees while its suppliers are from Taiwan, China, Indonesia and Europe.
“With the increasingly challenging global market and the Covid-19 pandemic, we hope to maintain our sales figure at last year’s level, while focusing on attracting new customers and meeting existing orders.”
Some of new products in its pipeline are aluminium foil for use in catering and bakery businesses, which it plans to launch this month.
“For a start, five types of foil products will be distributed to our customers. This new product is seen as timely as people need food no matter the economic conditions around the world,” he said.
“We tailor our products according to the needs of the users, and thinking from their perspective to meet their needs and provide solutions for them.
“Products are manufactured using effective materials, cuttingedge technology and quality metal supplies, and feature user-friendliness as per current demands,” he added.
