THE Royal Malaysia Police has received medical aid from OKI
Malaysia during the Movement
Control Order (MCO) period as part of Malaysia’s Covid-19 preventive measures
OKI Data (S) Pte Ltd Malaysia branch office has given its support in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak in the country by contributing medical aid to one of its major customers, the police.
On March 25, and in conjunction with the 213th Royal Malaysia Police Day, OKI delivered medical aid to the Bukit aman police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. On the same day, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin
Yassin announced an extension to the MCO by two weeks until April 14 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
This means police officers would need even more medical aid during this period and hence, OKI’s sponsorship and support came just at the right time.
On March 23, medical aid sponsored by OKI was also delivered to the Melaka state contingent police headquartersone of branch offices, Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen (IPK) Negeri Melaka, with the transport assistance of one of OKI’s authorised distributors, Tricomas Marketing Sdn Bhd.
Overall, this sponsorship project is one of OKI’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to support frontline police officers who conduct their daily inspections and road blocks during the enforcement of the MCO. Sponsored medical supplies comprise boxes of surgical face masks, hand sanitisers and thermometers.
“Our police officers have done a great job in the implementation of the MCO. We should all show them our respect and be grateful for their efforts in protecting our social welfare and helping to reduce the spread of the pandemic,” said Goh Yin Hwang, country manager of OKI Malaysia.
With the help from the Melaka state contingent police headquarters, OKI has contributed some of the sponsored items to Radio Televisyen Malaysia Melaka as the organisation also plays a vital role as one of the frontliners by providing up-to-date television news reports to the public.
“As responsible individuals, we should all play our part in supporting the government’s initiatives to overcome this challenging period,” said Goh.
