PKR confirms dismissal of five leaders
KUALA LUMPUR: The PKR Central Executive Council yesterday confirmed the dismissal of five leaders.
Its disciplinary board chairman, Datuk Ahmad Kassim, said the termination was agreed during the PKR central leadership council monthly meeting on Sunday and following the disciplinary board’s recommendation.
The sacking involved PKR Wanita chief Haniza Talha, Sabah Wanita PKR chief Rahimah Majid and Penang Wanita PKR chief Nur Zarina Zakaria.
PKR also dismissed Permatang Pauh deputy division chief Dr Afif Bahardin, who is also the Seberang Jaya assemblyman, and Sungai Acheh assemblyman Zulkifli Ibrahim.
Ahmad also announced the suspension of PKR member Ahmad Raj Abdullah following his alleged involvement in the assault against PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang @ Tian Chua on March 1.
“The suspension is in effect until the conclusion of the investigation by the authorities.
“PKR had also issued warning letters to three leaders, Tian Chua, Machap Jaya assemblyman Ginie Lim and Penang Wanita communications director Carolyn Khor.”
On June 24, Afif confirmed that he had been informed of his dismissal from the party during the PKR political bureau meeting.
Afif had announced that he would be seated with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia in the coming state legislative assembly sitting.
He was suspended from PKR in April pending an investigation by the disciplinary board.
