Inix plans to build resort, 80,000 houses in Perak

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Inix Technology Bhd plans to build a hot spring resort and residential units on 320ha in southern Perak.

Inix chairman Wan Kuok Koi said the company and China’s Guaying Group were in talks with the Perak government to develop the resort and 80,000 houses over three years.

He said it had drawn up a detailed proposal that ensured the project would contribute to the state’s economic development.

“The development plan is awaiting approval from the Perak government.

“Once it is approved, the Guoying Group will inject RM100 million as an initial fund for the development,” he said at Inix’s 15th annual general meeting (AGM), here, yesterday.

Inix is engaged in software development and system integration, as well as investment holdings.

Its director Chak Ho Sum said he would support Wan, who was appointed Inix chairman last month, and executive director Lee Han Kea in executing the plan by mobilising funds from Hong Kong to “make the company bigger and stronger”.

Wan is an entrepreneur from Hong Kong and Macau with strong financial resources.

The Guoying Group, under his leadership, is one of the leading enterprises in Macau.

According to a South China Morning Post report on July 17, 2018, when an initial coin offering (ICO) related to Wan was issued in Southeast Asia, it set a historic record of raising US$750 million in just five minutes.

Meanwhile, at the AGM yesterday, shareholders approved the reelection of Lee Yueh Shien and Edwin Silvester Das as directors.
