11 more give statements over soldier’s death

KUALA LUMPUR: Eleven more witnesses have given their statements to police to facilitate investigat­ions over Private Abdul Aziz Aznam’s death. Army chief General Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain said of the 11, two were military officers while the rest were of other ranks. “Eleven members of the military were called in by police recently to assist in their investigat­ion. We will leave it to them if there are more soldiers needed to be called to assist in the probe,” he told Bernama. On Saturday, police had recorded statements from 10 witnesses to assist investigat­ions into the death of Aziz, who was believed to have jumped from the third floor of a military building in Batu Pahat, Johor last month. He suffered serious injuries and died while being treated at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital.
