UEM Edgenta partners teachers, students to spruce up SKBK

-

KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Edgenta Bhd has continued its commitment to positively impact communities within its operations network through corporate responsibility (CR) programmes following its engagement with SK Bota Kiri (SKBK), one of the oldest schools in central Perak.

UEM Edgenta, as part of the refurbishment project, donated new whiteboards and durable roller shutters for classrooms and laboratories, and new industrial air conditioning units for the school’s main hall.

The company, with its expertise in integrated facility management, also performed sanitisation and disinfection works in the classrooms, offices and canteen area.

The CR programme culminated in a gotong-royong event, which saw volunteers from UEM Edgenta partnering SKBK teachers, parents and students to perform refurbishment activities.

They painted parts of the school building and a zebra crossing, installed new school signages, conducted landscaping activities, and redecorated classes as well as common areas around the school.

The refurbishment efforts will benefit 300 SKBK students who are now able to enjoy a more conducive and comfortable learning environment at school.

“Our aim as a responsible corporation is to continue our commitment to support local communities and we thank SKBK for the opportunity to partner them in this CR effort.

“The refurbishment works and contributions from UEM Edgenta is envisioned to produce a more comfortable environment for students to learn and play, as well as serve as further motivation to inspire them to do their best at school,” said Edgenta Mediserve Sdn Bhd managing director Dr Nik Fawaz Nik Abdul Aziz.

Edgenta Mediserve is UEM Edgenta’s operating company that provides hospital support services to all Health Ministry hospitals in Perak.

SKBK principal Farahdila Abu Seman said the school’s community was grateful for UEM Edgenta’s support.
