NU Sentral employee tests positive for virus

KUALA LUMPUR: NU Sentral is the latest shopping mall to have its staff testing positive for Covid19.

The mall management yesterday said one of its staff members tested positive for the coronaviru­s on Saturday.

“The Health Ministry has conducted contact tracing and all close contacts, including employees of NU Sentral’s management office, were tested for Covid-19 on Saturday. They all tested negative for the virus.

“Neverthele­ss, all employees are required to undergo selfquaran­tine for 14 days.

“They will work remotely, but can be contacted as usual.”

The management assured its tenants, vendors and customers that the case was isolated and had been handled immediatel­y upon confirmati­on.

“We are working closely with the Health Ministry on followup measures.

“As a precaution­ary measure, the mall was sanitised in accordance with the safety and health guidelines issued by the Health Ministry on Saturday.”

The management said it would continue to take preventive and precaution­ary measures as the safety of employees, business associates and the public was important.

“We advise shoppers to adhere to the standard operating procedures issued by the Health Ministry, practise personal hygiene, wear face masks and maintain physical distancing at all times.”

On Saturday, Sunway Pyramid confirmed that a Nike store worker in its mall was infected with Covid-19.

Other malls that have alerted their patrons to possible transmissi­ons were The LINC KL, which was visited by Covid-19 positive parents at the Trinity Kids playschool, and Suria KLCC, which was visited by a Covid-19 positive gym-goer.
