Green, pink wristbands for individuals entering Kelantan

-

KOTA BARU: People entering Kelantan from red zones under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will have to wear green or pink wristbands.

State Local Government, Health and Housing Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin said the wristband rule, believed to be the first such measure in the country, kicked in as soon as the CMCO took effect in designated states at midnight yesterday.

He said civil servants and VIPs entering the state from red zones for official business would be required to wear green wristbands, while pink wristbands were for private individuals entering the state for personal reasons.

“Starting midnight (yesterday), those from the two groups travelling to Kelantan, either via the four roadblocks mounted by the police or through the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa, are required to undergo checks.

“Travellers are required to wear the green wristband to indicate that they have come to Kelantan for a temporary (period) and due to official reasons. They will not be required to undergo swab tests or (the 14-day) self-quarantine.

“However, those entering the state from red zones for personal matters will be asked to wear the pink wristband and would be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine period,” he said after the state assembly sitting here yesterday.

Present was Kelantan Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin.

Dr Izani said the green wristband would be removed once the wearer leaves the state.

He said state Health Department officers had been placed at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport and the four roadblocks.

“There will be enough wristbands and we will ask for more if there is a need to do so.

“The use of pink and green wristbands will help us identify those having Covid-19 symptoms and those posing a risk.”
