-

“You are my hero.”

These were the words uttered by a 3-yearold boy, whose right leg got stuck in a toilet drainage pipe at his house in Jalan Sutera Dahlia, Taman Sutera Utama here last night, when firemen worked to free him.

Larkin Fire and Rescue Department operations commander senior fire officer II Mohamad Nazaruddin Ahmad Zainuddin said Raydon Koh kept repeating these words, but did not cry during the operation although he was in pain.

“We had to cut the pipe using a special tool to free the boy’s leg.

“It took only seven minutes to free him and the boy did not suffer any serious injury,” he said here yesterday.

Nazaruddin said in the 11.22pm incident, Raydon’s mother said her son had gone to the toilet when he slipped and fell. One of his legs got stuck knee-deep in the toilet drainage pipe.

He said 13 personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department, one from the Emergency Rescue Medical Services unit and three from the Rapid Intervention Motorcycles were despatched to the scene to help the victim.
