Man assaulted after reprimandi­ng motorist

KOTA KINABALU: A man was beaten for reprimandi­ng another driver at a traffic light in a 10pm incident in Jalan Kolam near here yesterday. The victim, 21, suffered seven broken teeth, and injuries to his head and hands. The victim, who drove a Honda, was said to have reprimande­d the driver of a Perodua Alza at a traffic light for not using the turn signal. The Alza driver, 33, allegedly broke the victim’s car window using an iron rod. Kota Kinabalu district police chief Assistant Commission­er Habibi Majinji said the person also allegedly hit the victim on the head and hands with the iron rod. He said the suspect then got back into his car and left the scene, adding that the case was being investigat­ed under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing injury.
