Spend time with your children

-

THE relationship between parents and children is expected to grow better each day. However, some parents are busy with their work, often returning late. Hence, they’re are not able to attend to their children’s needs.

It is understandable for parents to have limited time to spend with their children, but they also have to know that it’s vital to do that. If not, as time flies, before they know it, there is a gap between parents and the children.

We read from newspaper articles, on social media, and also by watching television, a lot of cases involving children and teenagers, such as kidnapping, drug abuse, suicide and abortion.

Children need attention. Some may seem strong enough in the eyes of their parents but they might keep their burden to themselves and over time, this may turn into mental health issues, such as anxiety or depression.

In an ideal world, parents and their children should be comfortable talking to each other. When this happens, they will form a strong bond.

The dream of having one big happy family starts with the parents, who are responsible in creating the right path for their children, guiding them to become better. Parents should not think that the children will learn everything in school.

They also learn from their parents at home. Parents should spend time to understand their feelings, get to know their friends and do activities together, especially during this time when the world is facing an unprecedented pandemic.

If they feel comfortable enough to have a conversation and have their parents listen, this is an indication of good parenting.
